The file recovery programs are not going to work because they need to see the partion first which is proably gone. You have lost the boot sector and or partion on that failed drive, that is why it still spins and sounds normal but windows wont' boot and when you connect it to a external usb adaptor windows won't find any files, probably even wanted to format the drive.ĭownload hiren's make the boot cd, and you have a ton of repair utilitys to first try and fix boot sector (mbr) if not then have g parted repair the partion.
